Mute-tation
by Michelle Chew

The Love that dares not speak its name
Nor can it withhold its flame,
Passion that reeks
Crimson Peach Plaque

Pity that love desire can’t fulfill
What lies beneath still

Rationality our foe, our ill
The heart's empty when our minds unreel
Superficiality a mate in toll,
He who awaits will know

That life is
Too short, too real, too stale
